disc copier freezes under vista

travisf

Question

I used easy media creator 9 on my system when it was xp, but the upgrade to vista home premium made it very buggy.

one of the most problematic programs is the disc copier. when i try to open the program it often freezes, hangs, or does not even open some times. when the program does open, it is very slow between menu options, and the CPU is not pegged.

i have pleanty of ram and processing power, but am very frustrated lately.

I have also installed the DLA patch thinking this could help, but there is no change.

i would love some suggestions.

thanks

I can suggest 2 things. 1-do a clean install or wait until the 9.1 update comes out which is supposed to fix some problems in Vista (what it fixes, I don't know).

thanks for the fast reply!

i actually did a fresh install... no change.

i wish i didnt have to wait for an update, but then again i am not the only person on the forum thinking that.

your rig is very, very close to mine, how does your emc9 act on vista.

I actually have another system (a Dell loaner from MS that I'm testing for them) that has been running EMC9 for months with no problems. On this dual boot system, I've only have EMC9 running about a month and while I think Vista is a bit slower than XP, EMC9 seems to run much faster on this one. I've tested a few avi files that I imported directly into MyDVD that encode faster in Vista. Not a huge difference, but a noticeable difference.

I've not had any problems with the install on Vista but did on XP.....bad install-no installation. The same problems you see on the forum.

Sometimes more than one clean install has helped others. You could wait for Version 10, which I believe will be out a couple days after the 9.1 patch.
