stpaul6
I have Roxio Easy CD creator 5 on Win 98 SE. It makes CDs most of the time but over the years has been a pain in the rear. I tried Nero but wound up re-installing Windows. Nero support was zero. I can't say Roxio ever made me reinstall Windows. I bought Roxio 6 a long time ago but never got around to installing it. I understand 6 is the end of the Win 98 line and that 7 is XP only. I finally decided to install it last night. However, when I did it said I had to uninstall Roxio 5. I tried to do that but got stuck when Roxio wanted an msi file to uninstall that I didn't have. I looked everywhere but could not find my Roxio CD, although I did find my Nero one, which I am now afraid to touch. The only Roxio file that I had was a downloaded file named Roxio easy cd v. 5.3.2.23_basic_enu.exe, 11 MB. I tried installing that file to see if it might create the missing .msi file but it didn't. Question 1. How can I uninstall Roxio 5 so I can install Roxio 6? Question 2. Is installing 6 worth the effort, or would I be better off just forgetting about it. lynn98109
Use the roxizap program Ogdens has provided a link for, it will clean out all of the bits and pieces Windows leaves. NOTE: If you have GoBack installed, first uninstall it, or it will also be zapped. Reinstall it afterward. Lynn
Guest mlpasley
Question 2. Is installing 6 worth the effort, or would I be better off just forgetting about it. Maybe not. Version 6 wasn't out long and there are a lot of people who had trouble with it. My advice would be that if you don't need the features, it might not be worth it. However, if you need the features, it won't hurt to install it and see if you like it.

Actually V6 is a current product, sold right here in the Roxio Store as well as in the hands of retail stores! If disappeared for a while but came back on this last December…
