Scene Detection

LenG

Question

I'm trying to save space by editing out commericals, trailers, and the like from recorded video. Automatic scene detection works, but much too well. Even with the sensitivity slider pushed all the way down to zero, I get hundreds of scenes in the typical sixty minute recording. Has anyone found a way to detect fewer scenes?

Thanks.

I do mine manually in VideoWave, simply scrolling and placing a Split at the beginning and end of the unwanted area then deleting.

Automatic things don't work too well in this type of video. It works well in video captured from camcorders…

If you work backward in a file, from end of clip forward, you can get pretty close to commercials with the time reference.

I know that some people had this problem if they opened the program (probably Media Manager -- but you didn't say) from the home menu. Open it from Windows.Start>programs>Roxio etc.
