I was in editing mode and just about finished and a box came up and said roxio need to close .That has happened more than once. What is the problem and how do I fix it . I lost all my work!

Can you give us some more details - system specs, what exactly you're doing, etc

 

Also, have you defragmented the drive before working and also run a spyware sweep?

 

btw - there is no EMC 8.5, just 7.5 and 8

Yes I have defragmented, I was just finishing up editing a home video and it crashed. It was not the first time. I went out and bought a new computer . It has happened once so far. Why does it just crash?

And what kind of video device do you have on that computer?

 

You didn't answer the question about 8.5. There is no Roxio product by that name. Do you have Super Creator 8.5? That's a different product, not by Roxio. Is it something that came with your computer (previous one or this one). I assume you are using Windows MCE; is that correct? . Are you using IE 7 and/or WMP 11?

 

You also did not tell us which of the 35 applications you are using when your computer crashes. If you are doing video editing, you should be using Video Wave.

 

Best Practices is to save your project often and under two different names alternately. That way if one crashes, you can go to the other and not lose a lot of work.
