No sound with Dazzle

jonx

Question

I would appreciate any advice; I’m using a Dazzle DVC100 which is connected to the video recorder and to the PC which uses Windows XP, I am able to see the video which I am wanting to record in the Pinnacle Instant Dvd Recorder software on the PC with the sound. But, once I record a clip and play it back on the PC there is no sound whatsoever.

I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Perhaps I'm reading your post incorrectly. You indicated that you were using Pinnacle to capture? If so, perhaps you will find better help with that device and with the program on their users group. I know that there are many posts about use of the DVC 90/100/other and trouble shooting on their users group forum. Once you capture the file, do you have sound when you play the file with something like WMP?

If you want help with capturing with that device and EMC 9, then read on.

Some people have reported similar problems with the DVC 90 that comes with the Deluxe Edition. First, go to the Pinnacle web site and download any new drivers for that device.

I'll assume that you will be using Roxio Media Import and have selected the DVC 100 as the video import device. First make sure that under "options" you have selected the dazzle device as the sound device and that "mute" is not selected. There is an "x" in the preview/mute box if it is muted.

The only other thing to try is to play around with your Windows sound and audio device settings. Go to the record tab and make sure nothing is muted as a start. With my DVC 90, I had to change the settings even though all the other audio applications worked properly. You may have to do this every time you use that device. The settings depend on your sound card so I can't tell you what they should be.
