Photo Edits

Question

I've put together a photo project in VideoWave then went back and edited a number of photos in Photoshop and saved them with the original file name. Now when I open the project all of the photos update as usual showing as per edit - except one. The offending photo should not exist as an unedited image anymore, and I can't find it in its unedited form, except in VideoWave itself. I've deleted it from VideoWave and 'added' it again, but get the same old unedited image. I've tried as many ways round the problem that I can think of but still don't get it. Question is - because I've never had this problem before, and as I'm getting older - am I now going mad; getting confused; growing stupid or what. Or is there a simple answer to this ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have not heard of that before, but here are two things you can try:

1. Open My Computer and navigate to the Proxy folder location, the default (unless you changed it) is

c:\Documents and Settings\Your User-Name\Application Data\Roxio\VideoUI9\Proxy. Delete all the files in the Proxy folder and then reopen Videowave.

2. Make a copy of the pictures with a different name and then import that picture into Videowave

Merv,

Thanks. I tried your solution, but because I dont want to redo the entire project (and I'm unsure what deleting all the files will do) I played safe and only deleted the offending photo - but the old file name and the unedited image still appears in the 'add photo' file. The new name file doesn't show in VideoWave folder viewer - but it is definately there in the photo folder when accessed through any other viewer ... ! Should I delete all the files as you suggest - but are there any risks to my project ?

I've just tried putting the edited image into a new subfolder but the folder doesnt show in VideoWave. Hope this doesn't mean a clean re-install - again.

Deleting all the proxy files will not delete your project. The proxy files will be rebuilt when you reopen the project in Videowave. But, if you did delete the offending photo in the proxy folder, I doubt that deleting all the files will help.

I am not sure what you mean by "The new name file doesn't show in VideoWave folder viewer". In videowave, if you click View>Media Selector, click the yellow folder in the upper left corner, drop down the folder menu, you should be able to navigate to your new picture location, and then drag it to where you want it in the production. If that is what you are doing and cannot see the new file, I don't know what the heck is going on.

Merv,

Crackerjack. That was the route. Not one I new about - still learning The image is the one I want, now. Great. Amazing how good you feel when a small problem like this is resolved. And, I feel good. Thanks for your valuable help.

Richard.
