Let me first apologize if this is covered elsewhere in this forum (I searched and did not find this covered).
I am creating a dvd consisting of 5 separate .mpg's in MyDVD 9. Step by step this is my process in a nutshell:
1) I start MyDVD 9 and, within the default style, delete the "My Menu" text, change the background, and add the 5 .mpg's
2) I then click the "Change Button Style" button and, with the "Apply style to all buttons on current menu" radio button selected, I change the style to "Beach Main" (thumbnail and text). I like the button format of this style (raised transparent frame around the thumbnail) however I do not want the text so I delete it for each button.
3) Next I click the "More Settings" button and uncheck the box next to "Motion menu"
4) Then I right click each button individually and choose "Select Thumbnail" (and do so)
5) After that I right click each button, choose "Show settings" and on the main tab:
I also uncheck the box next to "Motion thumbnail" on the style tab.
What I end up with is 5 buttons linked to 5 .mpg's BUT - when the buttons are selected or scrolled over, the thumbnail is replaced by a solid filled yellow box. I originally wanted to be able to change the thumbnails to .jpeg's that I had extracted and touched up (which I was able to do via the "Show settings") and have them change to another .jpeg when selected or scrolled over (which I wasn't able to do nor did I find any topics covering that). I put that dream aside and settled for just having the thumbnails outlined when selected but, no matter what settings I choose, I can't seem to get away from that solid filled yellow square over the thumbnails.
I did read about other people having the problems with the thumbnails being totally covered and I was sure I read in a post that the fix was to change the "Button highlight" to "Extent". Could it be that I have chosen a button style that has both text and a tumbnail and I have deleted my text?
If anyone knows of a way to show a secondary thumbnail when the original thumb is selected I would love to hear about it. If not I would certainly settle for a way to turn that ugly solid filled box into an outline!
Thanks in advance for your time.

OK.....I have figured this out by playing with the "More Settings" button --> Scheme Tab and changing my settings to Selection: Main "0" / Secondary "15". I take it from this that the "Main" is the outlined area of the button and the "Secondary" is the actual thumbnail.
I would still love to know if there is a way to swap .jpeg's when a title is selected (or chapter even for that matter) rather than just highlight or outline them.
