Roxio 9.1 Imagine my surprise....

Tony_PHXAZ

Question

Imagine my surprise as I sit here with version 9.0 and waiting on a patch to discover that the latest version of the Blackberry desktop software installs Roxio "media manager" 9.1 and most of the tools in Ez Media Creator for free, that I had paid for....

Not cool.

Actually, Media Manager" is just a small part of the EMC 9.1 program. If that's all you wanted from it, how about the rest of the program you paid for. Do you use any of that ?

Frank...

I guess my point is Frank that I am dissapointed that Roxio has time to OEM their tool (abeit not all of it, as you noted) into Rim Blackberry software...but not enough time to have a working patch out yet for purchasers of the entire retail product....

I have been a long time owner of this product, dating back to Adaptec days, and have experienced firsthand progressively more bugs, challenges, and causes for genuine dissatisfaction. This is yet one more.

Any reason that you didn't answer Frank's question? Just curious.

I didn't answer it because I am not a careful reader. He makes a good point that there are other features...and my answer is a succint "sometimes".

Sure, I use the other components, but that's also what really get's be about the poor tasking shown by Roxio. It was more important to get this RIM version out there than it was to fix the retail product. Whether or not I use the other features has nothing to do with that customer unfriendly decision.

Look, I know you you have been around the boards forever as well, I am only here when I am researching a problem...but I have to be honest, I have spent far too many hours fixing challenges with Roxio software that should not be happening in the first place. The trend has NOT been getting better in my mind.

I'm not simply venting either, I truly enjoy this product (when it works) and thus when it does not I am dissapointed. I am simply noting I have had too many defect related dissapointments as of late.

I can't disagree with anything that you said.

Well look at it this way. If our update has to patch all of the flavors of 9.0 up to 9.1, it would make sense to have a full working version of all of those flavors first, then simply issue an update that will patch all the various flavors in the proper way. So actually it makes complete sense that we would have the 9.1 product (in various flavors) before the update.
