DVD Writer Error

I have been trying to write a DVD all day long and all I get are coasters. I have written DVD's in the past with no problem. I did however write a DVD-RW, but when I stick in a DVD-R it come sup with the following error.

 

Sense: 03 ASC: 02 ASCQ: 00 (Command 2A)

I have read just about every bulletin there is and can not seem to find and answer. I am about to do a complete reload of my compter to see if it helps.

You have a communication issue with your drive. Try updating teh firmware for it first. If that does not work, try one of the px engine updates.

I have updated both the firm ware to 1.a4

and the PX engine to 3.00.58a

 

and it still does not work. Isn't wierd that it will write to the DVD-RW and not the DVD-R?

Did you try a different brand of disc to see if it can write to that? It is possible you got hold of a bad batch (that can happen even with the best of makes)
