I am brand new to this. I have a Sony HVR-A1J miniDV video camera that I would like to burn to either DVD or CD. The User Guide makes it sound so simple, but for some reason the program does not recognize my camera. No problem on my still camera, but nothing on the video camera. I am using a firewire directly to the USB port. Help!

There have been a lot of posts regarding the Sony cameras - in general the problem seems to be that they need to use their own software for anything

I don't think that is possible. You are either connected to a USB port (bad for capture) or to a firewire (good for capture). Read this.
