Please, I need help

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys! im new here and writting this topic is my last chance to find out a solution to get my dvd drive working again...

I have a Vaio Fe660g with a matshita dvdrw dl drive...I installed roxio easy cd creator about 8 months ago and I've always used specially drag and drop, because honestly the rest is not compatible with windows vista, which is my os at the moment...

Yesterday, after using 2 or 3 cds normally I inserted a blank cd to record an image/iso, using Easy Cd creator.....Suddenly I received a lot of error messages...I clicked "ok" but ever since the dvd drive doesn't recognize ANY cds ou dvd!! im desperate!....even if I try to boot by the bios method...

I called Sony and the first thing they think and say is that maybe the dvd drive really broke down and thats it.... but I honestly think something is wrong....it just cant stop working like that...

A friend of mine told me something about the firmware of the drive...but I really dont know what to think or do...

Please, if any of you guys know what im talking about, help me...

I'll pray while waiting for an answer...lol

From what you've described, I think the DVD drive really broke down, and that's it.

They can and do just stop working just like that. A firmware update won't help because something has broken. You need to get your drive to a service agency, sorry.
