YouTube/.flv files

JohnMoog

Question

Has anyone burned YouTube files to DVD? I have used VDownloader to save them in .flv format. In FLVPlayer the clips remain in their small size. In VLC Player they can be maximized to fit the screen but then they get very blurry. Is there any way (for free) to convert such clips to a format that can play in high quality in a large size on a DVD? Thanks in advance

I haven't tried it but I doubt there's anyway to do this. I think youtube video is 320x240 and since DVD is 720x480 (NTSC) you're bound to get poor quality.

Super is free and will convert .flv files to other formats, which you can then use in Videowave or My DVD to burn to DVD. You can select a different size for the output, but of course, as Beerman says, you will never improve on the original quality by conversion.

Also the latest version of Real player (11 beta) plays flv files, also allows you to save/record unprotected streaming video (including flv from Youtube, etc).
