Toast will not install -- Need by Saturday!

I'm trying to install Toast 8.0.1 on my MacBook running OSX 10.4.10, and all I get is a bouncing icon in the dock before it crashes. I have checked to make sure Helvetica in installed and on (I even tried removing and reinstalling it), I have no external devices to remove, I have run Disk Utility and Cocktail to attempt to reset prefs. None of this has had any effect.

 

I am going away on Saturday and need this to work! Help!

Got it working. I had to trash the Address Book prefs file for a (thought to be) competely unrelated reason, and somehow it got Toast to work.

 

I'm baffled.

I am stumped too, I wonder if there is a system level issue that might be causing a problem. You might want to run some disc repair utilities and/or run the latest Combined OS updater.
