Can I Burn Numerous Dvd Movies Chapters To One Dvd?

mhstudio1701

Question

Is it possible to collect your favorite tracks or chapters from several and different DVD's movies and then burn them to one DVD? Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions as how to do this or, if it is not possible with Toast, suggest a software I can use to do this? I am on the Mac, so the software would have to be mac compatible. Thanks

Click here: Multiple DVDs to one disc

One difference in the instruction for your situation: Use the lower button in the Media Browser to go to the chapter level of the DVD. You then can extract videos by chapter rather than the entire title. Also, if the DVD is not copy protected you can use the Media Browser to access the disc itself; you don't need to place a VIDEO_TS folder on the desktop unless your DVD has been ripped to the hard drive.

Thanks for the response. Sorry about the long delay. I have been away. I will give it a try. I'm a jug head when it comes to burning and following instructions like this, but will write again if I have more questions and problems. I do have a few questions before I begin. Some of the DVD's I will be taking chapters from are compressed, some will not be compressed, This means each chapter might have different compression speeds/rates. Will this effect the extraction and burning to the same disc? Can I still burn to the same disc? Also, how do I identify the chapters to be extracted and how will I know when the disc I'm burning to is full and I don't have enough space available?

All video DVDs are compressed. I'm guessing you mean that some have had additional compression by fitting a dual-layer video to single-layer media. It doesn't matter as long as you don't overfill the DVD and need more compression. You can tell how close the disc is to full by looking at the bar around the burn button.

You'll see the individual chapters in the Media Browser. I suggest previewing the DVD with DVD Player to take note of what chapters you are wanting to extract.
