yellow, green lines on screen

I am a newbie. When I go into edit a video the playback on the computer is all kinds of colors with lines through them...........it looks like a bunch of jibberish. The DVD colors play fine but it also has the video twice, side by side (split screen). Can someone please help.

Start by updating your video card drivers, from the manufacturer (i.e. Nvidia or ATI) and update Directx9 from MS to the latest.

 

If that doesn't help, post back with some specifics on your system, including video card info, and just what steps and app in the suite you are using when you see this problem.
