Forefront
I open Toast 8 and drag an iMovie file into Toast and it says that "abc.mov is in an unsupported format and cannot be imported" On other imports it says "2 files are in an unsupported format and cannot be imported" - it doesn't say which files All files were brought into iMovie in the same way from a DV camcorder and all were recorded in the exact same format, same audio, etc.
Forefront
That's the Toast version. What version of iMovie? If iMovie 5 or 6 (and possibly 4) you should have a project file saved by iMovie. Is that what you've tried to add to Toast? 6.0.3 and yes I tried to drag the project file
tsantee
6.0.3 and yes I tried to drag the project file If your iMovie Project is in the Movies folder select it with the Movies button in the Toast Media Browser. Does it show up correctly there? Can you play it in the browser? What happens when you try to add the movie from the browser? You shouldn't be having any problem with this. It makes me wonder if something is corrupted on your Mac. You could trash the Toast plist and prefs files in your User>Library>Preferences folder and also trash Toast. You could run DiskWarrior if you have it and clean system caches with a utility such as Onyx, Mac Janitor or Macaroni. I'm sorry I can't give a good guess about why your iMovie Project file is being rejected. Toast only takes one file from inside the iMovie Project. It is a small .mov file inside the iDVD folder inside the Shared Videos folder that is visible when you control click on the project file and choose Show Package Contents. And I looked through your other responses about using the media browser, etc. and this did not rectify the problem.
