Circumventing "Continue Recording" feature on burning multiple discs

Question

Hi there,

I've used prior versions of Roxio ECDC and never experienced this feauture, but in the 7.5 version, I have to keep pressing "Continue Recording," when burning multiple audio discs. It used to just automatically keep going. Considering I work for an audio production studio that burns 150 discs at a time, this is a quite an annoying feature. Does anyone know how to circumvent this feature???? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Usually stuff that burns to that many discs is commercial s/w and none of the EMC suites were commercial - they're designed for home users really

I think what he may be referring to is the fact that in earlier versions (Platinum 5 for example) - you could tell the program to burn 10 copies at a certain speed, and after a burn, the tray would open and you could replace the burned media with a new blank one, close the tray - and the program would see the media and continue on. You did not need to respond to the dialog box on the screen.

In Version 7, the program will not continue on until you respond to the dialog box. As a matter of act, if you want to stay with a burn speed different than whatever the program defaults to, you must replace the media, close the tray, wait for the program to see the media and display the available burn speeds, choose one, and then go. It is different and definitely more cumbersome for situations where you burn multiples of something. I find it to be a real pain when I'm burning 50 copies at a clip of one of our engineering reference cd's for our field staff.

Always been that way Rich with a lot of software - they keep adding new 'features' and the old ones that were really useful seem to disappear :(

And it's not just Roxio - I really miss some of the stuff that we had with the early Norton Utils

We do know it will never be fixed… The program has been out of production about 2 years now.

The OP didn't ask for it to be 'fixed' but rather if anyone knew how to turn it off. Since I've never burned to multiple disks I can't be of help. Sorry . . . :( (but I feel your pain).
