This is my advise to whoever is reading this and hasn't yet bought EMC 9. Run away. Settle for something else other than this. First, it took me almost four days to figure out how to instal. Second, after installing, it couldn't burn or outsource my media to DV. When I tried to call the technicians, no one was available and the Roxio customer service team doesn't respond to e-mails. I'm stuck with a BS software that I can't use. Please, run away.

How naive of Roxio not to "know" about problems associated with installation. I installed after reading from some equally frustrated customer on turning off firewall and all virus protection softwares. Can you tell me why I can't burn or outsource my media to DV yet my computer meets all the system requirenmts?

 

There is no doubt in my my mind why it took you 4 days to figure out how to install the software.

Yet your first post here is a gripe and not one asking for help. I know as much about you as I do about an Egyptian princess so how about more info?

Of course we can't. You've provided no information for any of us (your fellow users) to offer any suggestions. No system specs, nothing about what you have actually tried. You also posted your complaint, which appears to be about v 9, on the v 8 boards, so some may just pass it by.

 

BTW, just so there is no confusion, this site is not Roxio/Sonic support. It is a user discussion group where users try to help each other out.

The folks answering most of the questions and trying to help out here (including myself) are customers like yourself, not Roxio, unless they have a Roxio logo by their name. Most of us didn't have problems getting EMC installed, so we're not being Naive, any more than we're being "Roxio".

 

So, for any of us to help you with your problem, you need to give us some exact details of what you're trying to do, and it will help to post your system specifications, because oft times, there are some items there that point to some possible issues. If you click on the "My Controls" link at the top of the page, you can edit your signature to include your system specifications. And the listed system requirements for EMC 9 are more like "Bare Minimums" which you'd be better off exceeding significantly.

 

Also, what version of Windows are you running?

 

Presumably, you're creating some sort of video output, but what are you starting with, .AVI files? .MPG files? And are you then using VideoWave to create a production, then putting it through MyDVD? Or are you starting with a bunch of still photos and making a slide show? If so, are you using the SlideShow Assistant or VideoWave?
