Trick to Optimize on the Fly?

I am having a problem with the the Optimize on the Fly function. I want to create an HFS+ disc, so I need to have it turned off. When I try to use images that have been optimized with the third-party utilities such as Drive Genius or iDefrag, I get the dialog telling me to use a commercial disc optimizer or turn on Optimize on the Fly.

 

Any suggestions?

Use Disc Image Merge format. Optimize on the Fly must be turned on if there is shared data. I assume that is why you are getting the error.
