I think the header speaks to the issue.

I sometimes forget to uncheck the box and there is no reason to leave it on for what i am doing,

I'm sorry, but is the digital copy prohibited an option of audio CD burning? If so it only prevents copying using a Digital Audio Tape (DAT) recording and doesn't prevent copying tracks off a CD on to a computer or duplicating the CD. So it is pretty much irrelevant.
