Dvd Ripping Of Home Material

strubj

Question

I created a DVD of home video in the past and deleted the original source. I now want to rip the video from the DVD I made to an editable format (wmv, avi, mpeg...).

What tool do I use in Easy Media Creator 7.5 to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Use the Capture program. Put the DVD in your drive, then open capture. The help menu includes a tutorial which you might want to view if you've never used capture before.

To RIP the video from the DVD to the hard drive, follow Paul's suggestion and use Capture.

Look for the second copy of the DVD drive in the Capture window (It's a program bug.)

I believe that it will import it as an mpeg2 file which is what is on the DVD. If you want to change it to avi, you'll have to put it on a storyline in VideoWave and do a File\ Output production to.... and choose DV Camcorder which will put it into a DV AVI file.
