Backup Projects more flexible in EMC 9?

I'm using EMC 7 and wondering if EMC 9 has addressed one of EMC 7's significant shortcomings.

In creating a Backup Project in EMC 7, you can't select files. You can only select folders. So, for example, if you want your backup project to include the autoexec.bat and boot.ini files in the root directory, there's no way to do that without selecting the root directory, and there's no way to select the root directory without selecting ALL the files AND folders in the root directory -- i.e., the entire hard drive!

The backup programs I used back in the DOS days and the earliest days of Windows were all more flexible than this.

So my question is: Have they fixed this in EMC 9?
