laurentfr
I just installed EMC8 on my PIV 1GB XP SP2 and everything was fine. Then I started to work on a DVD with MyDVD8 spending one night with a project. I saved it. THe program seems ok, but it failed to load it back with the C++ runtime error below. I've seen many instance of this runtime error in the forum, but I've not found any help. When you run your custom Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 program in Microsoft Windows XP, you may receive the following error message: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I tried to narrow the problem. Open My DVd : ok Save without doing anything : ok reload : ok Add a WMV File : ok Save : ok Reload : ok Add chapters : ok Save : ok Reload : runtime error So no need to work all night to get the error

laurentfr
I think that this means that a different template worked ? Yes, that is very strange and confusing. It crashed adding a 3rd video in the default template (or a 4th in the birthday template ) Then tried the retro template, added my 3/4/5/6 videos, saved, reloaded (may not be useful) then switched back to the default template then t worked with my 6 videos. To sum up, the default tempalte can not load more than 2 videos but can work with (as many as 6) as long as they are already in the project. Very very strange. sknis
If I remember correctly, there was a problem with certain ATI video cards and the standard (brook menu). I don't remember any solution except to use a different menu theme. I'll try to find that thread. Found it http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?...&st=entry9143 And I was correct, there were a couple of work arounds but no direct solution. That is why it helps to post a complete computer profile as part of your signature. Take a look at some of the other's signature and computer profile to see what is usually asked for. Use "My Controls" and then edit signature to do that (and even post your favorite quote).

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I tried to narrow the problem.
Open My DVd : ok
Save without doing anything : ok
reload : ok
Add a WMV File : ok
Save : ok
Reload : ok
Add chapters : ok
Save : ok
Reload : runtime error
So no need to work all night to get the error
