My player senses a DVD and draws it in, seems unlikely that it will recognise and seat one of these mini discs. Hope I explained that OK. At least in a PC you physically place the disc on the tray. You might want to check the manual or the player's manufacturer's website support. As to transferring.... that depends on what you want to do. A straight disk copy should work. However, if you want to edit the video, it would depend on what format the movie was recorded in. If it's mpeg2, that should not be a problem. Mine all have the 3" mini DVD in the tray, including a 2002 JVC model. Actually, if I hadn't been helping my neighbor with her computer that has a DVD-ROM drive that just has a slot, I probably wouldn't have caught this.
