RecordNow 9

I am running Vista home Premium on a dell XPS400. I have installed recordnow 9 several times with and without AVI running. It appears to load OK and when I click on the desktop icon it loads Ok. When I try to copy a audio CD (my own, not a protected copy) it works fine until I click on the red copy button and then the computer lockeds down. I can not even get in to task manager. The only way I can recover is to manually cut off the computer ( hold the power button for 5-6 seconds) and then reboot normally and then the computer is OK until I try RecordNow 9 again. The program was bought from newegg and appears to be the latest available. BTW It crashes when you try to use any feature not just "copy". Any Ideas. Thanks
