Yet anther error message!

Question

Has anybody seen this error message: operating system error: HRESULT = 0x80040200 - Unable to IDirectInputJoyConfig_Acquire because the user does not have sufficient privileges to change the joystick configuration. & An invalid media type was specified -14

I finished a project, went to burn a disc (and image), 95% into the process, it decides it wants to give me this error message. HOW CONVENIENT. What do they expect us to do? Go back to college to learn what the heck this means?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....stuck in the mud. :angry2:

I think you need to make sure that you have administrative rights. one of the articles I read talked about limited user rights and the inabililty to write to the registry...that could be your issue?

Yeah, I was sure to check that. I've always had admin. rights on my computer. Strange...this happened right after I downloaded and installed critical updates for WinXP.

Very frustrating. DVDit pro is still useless to me. So much time and effort into making nice looking DVD menus....but, can't even burn to a finish product. :(

This is a Windows error, not a DVDit Pro error

Yes it is...but, does anybody know how to get rid of it? From what I've read, it's also happening with other programs related to burning DVD's. I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
