audio during video capture

Question

The problem I'm having is during video capture. When I play a sample clip back the audio is pretty distorted, almost sounds as if robots have taken over my family in the clips at times when they're talking. Anyone else have this problem and can someone help? Thanks

How are you capturing to your hard drive? What are you using for playback?

I have the A/V from the video camera plugged into the microphone on the computer and I have a sigma tel sound card for audio. I hope that answers your question.

Therein lies the problem. There are other posts on the forums about the sigma tel sound card. Someone may drop in here who knows that issue. If not, type in "sigma tel" in the Search box to the upper right of your screen.

Bruce, Thanks for checking my post out. I was playing with some of the capture settings and it seems like using the .AVI gives me crisp audio as opposed to the other settings (or at least the MPEG formats), any idea why?
