ogdens
I have the retail version, if by that you mean I bought it at the store. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times. Now I had IE7 and MP11, but I rolled both back to 6 and 10, are you saying MP10 can also cause this or was that a typo? Telling us you have the retail version does not help at all (there are many version out there). To find the version #, open Creator Classic, click on Help, click on About. You should be ok with WMP 10. Also you have never yet said what your problem is, all you have told us is "nothing seems to work". Thats like taking you car into a auto mechanic and saying my car won't start, and then leave with the keys in your pocket.

OK, I create a slideshow and try to burn it to DVD with DVD builder, when I click DVD the slideshow goes away and builder try's to open, but then get an error code saying it encountered a problem and has to shut down. I had IE7 and WMP11, after reading this board I rolled both back, but it still does not work. I have version (7.0.353.0 enu)

Patty
is EMC 7.5 an upgrade over EMC 7 or is it a totally new program? I continually check for updates, but it tells me that there are none avaliable. Whats the deal? 7.5 is an upgrade not an update. (different program) An update is fixes for exsisting program, and upgrade is a new program. 7.5 contains additional programs within in as well as Videowave, Photosuite and DVD Builder. Guest ml
Well did that and still no help. I've ran AD ware and spyware programs, still no help, DVD builder still has an error and shuts down What about your computer System Performance Settings? It's under Start\ Performance(Control Panel)\ System\ Advanced\ Performance\ Settings\ Data Execution Protection. Windows says that by default it's set to Essential Windows services only, but a Windows update changed mine and stopped some programs from launching. I know you've uninstalled and reinstalled, but have you also tried an Add Remove Programs\ Change\REPAIR?
golinux
I got a copy of EMC 7.5 on eBay early last year (1 1/2 years ago). Don't know how many copies are still floating around.

I continually check for updates, but it tells me that there are none avaliable. Whats the deal? I believe that back when EMC 7.5 came out, there was an actual upgrade, that would upgrade the Retail version of EMC 7, but you had to have EMC 7 on your computer, for it to work. The upgrade was offered at a lower cost than buying the new suite. It is doubtful that the possibility to get that upgrade exists now. Go with Sisterscape's suggestion. lynn98109
EMC 7 was the last program put out by the company then called Roxio, which had bought the name and software for Napster, and now is Napster. Before renaming themselves, they sold the name and softwae for Roxio to Sonic, which re-bundled it with several of their own programs and released it as EMC 7.5 So yes, it is an upGRADE. Ramz
So from what I've been reading and the advice I've been given I take it that I'm just screwed with this version. Cause nothing seems to work, there's no updates or anything that can help. Does not make sense

james_hardin
How about looking at some of the other culprits? Do you have either/both Media Player 10 11 installed or IE7? They kill V7… There could be other issues but you have never listed your PC specs or even the full version number of V7 that you have… Edit: I should have said WMP 11, my bad! golinux
There is also a way to completely clean Roxio from your system before reinstalling it. I'm sure one of the gurus has that info at their fingertips.
