Text Not Showing Up On Overlay

Guest RCD74

Question

Guest RCD74

Hi - In a Videowave production I am doing, I have put a blank panel and added a picture on top of it so that I could move the picture around to include everyone in it since the TV safe zone showed some people were left out. I would like to place text on top of this picture but for some reason, it won't show the text on the picture in the preview, but does show it in the internal track. Why is this happening and how can I resolve it? Thanks in advance!!

How are you adding the text?

How are you adding the text?

I have tried it 2 ways. I have used the effects selector and dropped it into the panel in the Storyline view and I have also added it by dropping it into the internal track in the timeline view. Both ways have not been successful. The strange thing is that it's there in the preview on the internal track, but once I preview the whole production, it is gone! I thought you could add text on top of the 1st overlay?

You can. Add your text to the Text1 track in Timeline view. You can move your text to wherever you want it, and have it fade in/fade out, etc.

If you need additional overlay tracks, or additional text tracks, click on the Show/Hide tracks button, then click on the add button for whatever track you want to add.

I did that and for some reason it isn't showing up in the preview but DOES show up in the preview for the internal track. I cannot figure this out. I even tried putting text on the 2nd text track and it does the same thing!! Am I doing something wrong???

Just a recap - I have a black blank panel with my picture in the 1st overlay track. I then put my text in the first text track and it is doing what I have stated above. What is going on??? Thanks!!
