Roxio Closes when several tasks done

FIJIAN

Question

Hi does any one have an answer to making Roxio more stable. I am making a large slide show with music animated text & video content. I just am finding the software so tedious and useless as soon as i have addded a peice of music and maybe a peice of fancy text for no reason the program will just disapear with out any save and everey thing requires repeating and saving after just about every new item added. Tedious when I have over 500 photos & 20 music operations with a great deal of text to add. The only reason I stick with this software is that I know it. This has been a problem to me on older versions of Roxio loaded on previous computrers I have owned. May be someone could recomend a better peice of software so I can send Roxio to the trash can?

Roxio is loaded on a brand new Dell Optiplex duo processor & 4 Gig of memory with the 8.05 update loaded. Also on an older version of Roxio I had a video effect or a layer of a movie film running down the sides of a photo wich was a good effect does any one know where I can find it in Ver 8.

Please help before I set up a Hate Roxio site.

This is a users forum, and we are just users, so threats mean nothing to us. ;)

Do you Internet Explorer 7 or WMP 11 on your computer? If so, roll back to IE 6 and WMP 10.

Also, make sure your video card is running the latest drivers, and also, defrag your hard drive.

What OS are you running?

What version of IE and Windows Media Player?

What "older version" do you have installed?

Did you run a Repair from Add/Remove Programs?

Of course killing everything in the way of background programs is always a plus.

Hi James I am running XP Pro service pack 2 IE 11 This computer is a virgin install of Creator 8 with the auto update 8.05 installed. I refered to the problem on older machines I have had creator 7 installed on with the same unreliability p[roblems. I will try a repair in case something did not install correctly Thankyou.

You might try checking with Dell as you have their OEM version of Roxio and are responsible for support.

Maybe the have some ideas. You have nothing to loose.

I haven't a clue what WMP 11 changes on the computer's system, but I do know that it was made for Vista, not XP, and it does do a number on EMC 7, 7.5, and 8, as well as other software.

**FIXED** Unknown to me my son had down loaded a number of vidieo burning suites all cut down versions which had created nothing but conflicts with all my media products. I have had to remove and re-load just about everything & run just about every cleanup utilityknown to man. Needless to say I have set up a heavily restricted account for the kids and passworded my administrator account. Sorry for the rant earlier on.

Is any one able to assist in knowing where to find the vidieo effect that I have used on an older version of Roxio I had a video effect or a layer of a movie film running down the sides of a photo wich was a good effect does any one know where I can find it in Ver 8 Please.

FIJIAN,

are you running WMP 11, with version 8?

cd

Yes I am and now I have deleted and re-installed Roxio 8 and updates it seems to be very stable I have been running a vidieo presentation alongside a new production I am trying to modify switching between the two without any problems. Makes life a lot easier.

Actually using the software beats others repeating WMP 11 breaks EMC 8 because of, "big changes it makes deep within the bowls of the operating system". :)

Thanks for that report.

cd ;)
