failure to launch

Question

I hope somebody can shed some light on this problem. I completed a fresh install of Windows XP home edition, downloaded Media Player 10, and Quicktime 7.0. Everything is on the D partition of my hard drive. Then I installed DVDit Pro 6. Everything installed fine, registered fine. But when I tried to launch the program, I watch the program load... timelines, etc... when it gets to the backgrounds (or something close) it results in an error message. So I am unable to open the program. I am just about out of ideas. This is a fresh XP install, with apparently all the requirements satisfied. The only other problem I can imagine is the fact that my operating system is on the D drive, and perhaps DVDit is trying to write to the C portion, which is too small. Anybody have any suggestions?

try going into the programs>roxio>dvdit pro folder and in the content folder remove the templates (just put them on your desktop temporarily. then try to launch the program. does it launch? maybe something got corrupted in there. and DVDit does need a C: drive...but I don't think it needs much space to write anything to speak of...except for the transcodes and you can change the location of those transcodes in your preferences dialog...if you can get the program open.

DING DING! Scott thanks so much. I moved the templates and the program opened. Now I will attempt to set the preferences. As my guitar instructor likes to say, "Celebrate the small victories!"

Well that was a one-day victory as it turned out. Today the program would not open. I re-partitioned my hard drive to free up more space, no luck. Uninstalled and re-installed on a different drive, no luck. I moved the templates again, no luck. So I am just about out of ideas.
