Burning blank on Disc / Folder Set

jonaChong

Question

Recently I downloaded EMC 9 Suite mainly due to its rich features in video and phot editing.

However, I have problem trying to burn my video and slideshow into DVD. I tried:

1) Burn to DVD: Burning never progress from 0%, disc was empty. No error message. After few hours of waiting I was forced to end task the process.

2) Folder Set: The folder and files were created but with 0 bytes. (as suggested in this forum:http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=24450). After few hours of waiting I was forced to end task the process.

FYI, I was able to burn the same video captured and photos into my DVD with Window Movie Maker without any problem.

This is my Dell machine specification:

OS: Windows XP media center edition 2005

RAM: 2 GB RAM

Video card: 256 MB PCIe X 16 Nvidia GEForce® 7300LE

DVD writer: 16X DVD+/- RW with dual layer writer

Date purchased: 6 July 2007

The 0% progress is usually caused by the video card. Update the drivers for your GeForce. The one you have is a light version, but updating the drivers may work. If not, use software rendering. This version of the software does not like NVidia cards. I know, I have one.

I just downloaded the driver installation from http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_91.31_uk.html

Allow me to ask these questions, just want to be sure before installing:

- What do I expect when installing this new driver? What to choose when prompted?

- You mentioned that EMC9 does not like NVidia card, what percentage that this installation will help? I just don't want to reinstall windows XP if anything goes wrong.

I would like to hear more about software rendering. How it can be done?

Thanks in advance.

The software is just finicky with the NVidia cards. It does work though.

You have to uninstall the existing drivers, and reboot, before you install the newly downloaded drivers. Then click on the file you downloaded, and follow the prompts.

To use software rendering in MyDVD, click on Tools/Options, and click in the circle to the left of Software.
