Burning Dvd From Video Wave

hpace3

Question

I have made a project in video wave. Have had all sorts of problems that I did not have the first time a made a video. But after several days it is finally complete. Now I can' burn the project to Dvd. I have saved it in Video wave. When I clik burn to dvd, DVD builder flashes on the screen for a second but will not open. I have defraged, run my spyware(2) programs and adware. I reinstalled 7.5 today to hopefully fix some of the other issues I was having. DVD builder will open from the home menu but not from Video wave. I can not open my video wave file in DVD builder that way. Help! I can't figure why I had no problems with my first video and so many now. They are both about 20 min long. Around 4 gig.

I have a Dell diminsion 8250, 1024 RAm, 89 remaining. 64MB GE force4mx 42 video card

If you can't open the .dmsm file in DVD Builder, then there is something corrupt in your production, and you are going to have to go through it to find out what it is. It could be a bad transition, picture, or video clip.

I don't quite understand what you mean by the above quote from your post. Do you mean that if you open DVD Builder from home that you then cannot add your Videowave dmsm project by using "Add new Title"?

In videowave have you tried to "ouput production to.." an mpeg2 file?

Since you can open DVD Builder from the home menu, try this.

Open DVD Builder, Choose Add New Title, Choose Collections, choose Recently Used Media Files and Projects. Your .dmsm (VideoWave) project should be there. Click on it and add it to the DVD Builder menu.

Let us know if it works or if you still have problems.

Thanks I could open my file as you suggested. I had been trying to open it my clicking on file-open.

I was able to open my file and burn it as another user suggested by opening DVD builder - add new title.

3 more questions

1. if there is something corrupt in my video wave file how do I determine what it is? I used quite a few different transitions, added background music and some still images to the video.

2. I want 2 copies of this video. Should I burn both from DVD buner or make a copy of the first one I just made? Or does it matter?

3. Can you burn more than one video project to the same DVD?

Thanks so much for the help

1. In VideoWave, do a File\ Output production to... Video File\ DVD authoring. When you render the file, if there is a problem with the storyline, it will freeze at about the time there is a problem.

2. You should be able to open Disk Copier, put the DVD in the drive and make 2 copies of the DVD. Instead of burning to the DVD first, I burn to an 'image file' (.iso) and use Disk Copier to burn from the 'image file' to the DVD. However, you've already burned the DVD, so just copying from that would be faster.

3. Unfortunately, no. If you need space on your hard drive and want to add more movies to a DVD Builder project, in VideoWave, do the File\ Output production to.... in step #1. That will give you a complete MPEG2 movie that you can store on your hard drive and you can add several of those to the same or a new DVD Builder project.

Keep in mind that one hour of total video is the total recommended for 'best' quality on a DVD.
