I am new to this forum and I am having a problem with burning a cd. I can load the data that I want to burn and click the button to start and the light will be flashing and the cd just spins. Eventually it will eject the cd and says to put in a new cd and make sure it's compatible with drive. I have used 3 different brands of cd's and still does this. I have used these cd's in this computer before successfully. I contacted Roxio support and received information back and I downloaded pxengine and tried to find the firmware for my cd drive to no avail. When I check MyComputer, it says my cd drive is a TSST Corp CD/DVDWTS H653LATA Device. I did a search and found nothing. I checked HP and found nothing. By the way my Computer is an HP Pavillion A1737C with Windows Vista . I have tried drag and drop of the data - light is on in the cd drive and does nothing. I tried using Windows Media to burn a disk - ejects and says to use the right media. I am using cd-r cd's. I checked the cd drive with a previously burned cd and it can read the data. This is a new computer - purchased in Feb 2007 and have given me no problems otherwise. Please, can any one figure out what is going on. I really need this drive to be working for backup of my data.
