create slideshow/DVD

Any suggestions? I am running XP media centre on a Packard Bell P.C, since I have had this Roxio 8 will not work properly in create slideshow, it will create it but then when it comes to burning it to disc my DVD express will not open properly and then freezes up.

I am not sure what is causing this problem for you, however, I have read in previous posts that using the slideshow option to produce your project and then express to burn is not the most compatable way to do it. /When making a slideshow, put it together in videowave, at this point click burn and it will take you to MyDVD, choose your menu etc then burn it to an .iso file (image) then use disc copier to burn the .iso file to a DVD. If you could let us know exactly the steps you took before using DVD express to burn, it would be helpful. From your post it sounds like you did not use videowave, is that true?
