Trying to burn a DVD but get ERROR at 97%

Exhausted Mom

Question

First time posting and I must say that I'm not to tech savy. I just got EMC9 last week. Several weeks before that I used Movie Maker to create a slide show of our summer vacation. The slide show has several photos, vides, transitions and I also added background music. I couldn't save the project in Movie Maker until I broke it down into 3 different 10-15 minute video clips and separate audio. I thought that I could use EMC9 to simply burn that project onto a DVD. I opened MyDVD and selected the 3 video clips to burn. I selected "Edit Movie" so that I could add the background audio to the project. Time and time again my system kept crashing during the process. So I used Videowave to re-create the entire project which is almost 40 minutes long, again it's a combo of video, photos, transitions, background audio. While in VideoWave I clicked on the little MyDVD icon to burn. I customized my menu and clicked burn using a Memorex DVD-R. It appeared to comlete the burn and I put it in 2 different DVD players but nothing. So I tried with a Memorex DVD+R, it appeared that everything was fine but at 97% I got an error message. I'm getting so frustrated because this was touted as an easy to use product so I chose it over Nero and now I'm starting to regret my decision. I read though several topics in the forum but maybe someone could take a look at the specs listed below and see if that's where the problem lies. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can offer, thanks.

Try this http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=15366

Also try using a DVD-RW (till you get everything sorted) and use a different brand of media (many people on here have reported problems with Memorex).
