1 tihso
No the number of slides is not the problem. Re-Read post #2 above. Folks, The thing that Larry mentioned in his post worked for me on a similar trouble. What I do is without opening Roxio at all is go to My Documents and find the project that I was working on and click to open it there. Magically the projects renders when opened in this manner. tihso
1 Terry
I had exactly the same problem after working for days on my production. I had upgraded my Nvidia drivers at the Dell sight to no avail. This morning I saw Larry's posting and followed his advice. I went to the Nvidia sight and got a brand new driver (July '07) and to Microsoft to ugrade DirectX. I restarted then double clicked on my project to start MyDVD and bingo it worked. I was able to burn my project. Thanks Larry! Terry
0 Larry
Update the drivers for your video card. Update Directx9 to the latest. If starting MyDVD from the Roxio Home window, instead try opening it from Start -> Programs -> Roxio ........ If none of that helps, post your system specs and some specifics about your project. How you put it together (in Videowave, Slideshow assistant, or whatever) and what the source files are.
0 49thdiver
I have just spent 4 days and bought a new video card (nvidia fx 5500) trying solve this problem. In the end it had nothing to do with dx9 compatibility nor drivers, nor defragging, what a waste of time and money that was. Anyway after going back to basics and trying to do a a 4 slide slide show with no sound no nothing I found out that anything greater than a 2 second delay between transitions (using dissolve, no pan and no zoom), would cause this problem. I did for a while think that an mp3 sound file (background sound)was the problem but I have not had a chance to go back and see if adding that will also cause a problem. So thare you go hope it helps

I did not have a problem encoding my production.

Anyway, the program has no problem with transitions longer then 2 secs, I have used some as long as 5 seconds. What are the duration of the adjoining photos? They have to be long enough for the transition to work properly and have the desired duration.

0 maszpak
I had the same problem and thanks to this thread was able to fix. Went to Dell website and downloaded current driver for graphics card. Restarted the computer. Opened the saved project in My Documents. My monitor did some kind of test and voila; it worked. I have had so many problems with this software- it is ridiculous. 3 time EMC buyer (version 5, 7 and now 10) This one is the worst with conflicts and issues. Tech support is not great as you must wait a day or so to get an answer. Thank God for these forums!!!!

0 sknis
For windows XP SP2: control panel appearance and settings display settings advanced adapter properties driver update driver That's one way of doing it. The other way is to go to Windows Start Run type in dxdiag OK When the window opens, go to the display tab. On the left will be the video card information, on the right, the current driver. Update the driver from the manufacturer's web site. If it is an on-board chip, do so from the computer manufacturer's web site. If it is a stand alone card, update that from the card manufacturer's web site. Most of the cards are either ATI or NVidia based.

Steph11, Your posts are attached to a long thread that may or may not have anything to do with the rest of the posts. In this forum, we suggest that you start a new post with your problems, issues, what you've tried, etc. and that you change your signature to include your computer specs (top of this page My Controls then to the left to edit signature). If you get an error, please post what the error is ; that is important. I don't understand the bolded text (my bolding).
0 igdent
Hi all, I don't know if this topic was ever solved but, just in case, I thought I might add: Make sure no other program is open. If you avoid any conflict (with any program at all) everything should be fine.

Seems weird that it does but it does.... Save the project - close roxio - then open it by clicking on the shortcut to my saved project.
