Language!

Mr. Ecko

Question

Hi! I just bought a computer in Japan and luckily it contained Roxio 9, but the problem is, it's in japanese. I can figure out part of what it says, but it's still a pain and quite hard to use. is there a way of changing the language without having to reinstall the program (I don't have the confirmation key, that's why I don't want to reinstall it; it came installed already)?

I doubt that you can change the language without a reinstall and perhaps without a major registry change. . I could not find anything about it in the help files nor the Knowledge Base articles.

Talk to the computer manufacturer support services regional offices; if they are reputable, they should be able to provide you with the English version. The computer manufacturer provided a lite version of the program so they may or may not have included the option for other languages.

I think you will need to reinstall as well. There is a language option during installation of the software. In the mean time, many of the words are english but spelled in Katakana (I am currently taking japanese lessons) so if you have a katakana pronunciation key handy (everything is spelled phonetically), you can sort of wing it for a good deal of the menus and options.

While I am on this thread:

1) I thought when the title said, "Language!" that someone was using curse words :D

2) Why isn't phonetically spelled phonetically?
