Question

Cannot close R CD's or DVD's to be read on other machines when using Drag to Disc or Classic after a successful burn. Generates the following error : "Failed to prepare media for CD-ROM or DVD-ROM compatibility". Works fine with RW CD's and DVD's. Have burned and closed R DVD's using Slideshow.

It can be done. I am sure James will drop by to help you out on this one.

My advice is to use Creator Classic, especially if what you are burning is important data. Also, if you are burning a slide show, then D2D is most definitely the wrong program to use for burning it. I don't know how a DVD player would play it, but if you used Slideshow, you did not use D2D, even if you thought that you did.

Hi,

I am encountering the same error. After formating a CD and copying data files to it, when I attempt to eject the error occurs. This same error started with version 6. So I bought the latest version and its still happening. I'm on XP Pro SP2 with all the latest security updates.

I noticed it mentioned that using Creator Classic would be better suited. Unfortunately, that process closes the disc permanently which is not what I want.

Thanks.

It won't close the disc until you fill it up, if that is what you are talking about. Never use packet writing software like Drag to Disc, InCD, or DLA. Use Creator Classic, and make multi-session discs, so you can keep adding data until it is filled up.

To have the disc mult-session, uncheck the Read Only box in the burn options.

You can make a multi session disc with Creator Classic.Leave the read only box in general burn options unchecked.

You must have been posting while I was still typing. :):)

LOL...this happens to me alot Bruce. No problem, that way at least someone gets the info out.

One other thing I would add is to read the help files in Creator Classic on creating an appendable disc and adding data afterwards.

And thanks again for the SnagIt tip.
