CD Track ID for live recording

Caiiskii

Question

I want to put in song #id on a cd of a live recording without any change in the level of audio. I have various live recordings and DJ mixes which I have recorded that I want to put track markers on.

I used to use a stand-alone recorder and do it on the fly, but I no longer have access.

I have toast 7 titanium and spin doc. Have tried a couple of things and there is always a dip in level for the next Track id. Any tips would be appreciated.

I don't know what could cause any change in levels. Open the AIFF file in Spin Doctor. After the wave form is created place your track markers. Export the tracks to Toast and burn your audio CD. None of this changes audio levels.

Thanks tsantee. Sorry, my post was badly worded.

What I meant to say; There is always a dip in level between tracks as the id changes. kind of a glitch. I think it's more likely a toast thing. Even though pause between tracks is set to 0 there is still a slight pause.

I would like to get rid of that. Any thoughts

That makes more sense to me. Make sure you have Disc at once (DAO) and not Track at Once (TAO) selected for disc burning. Try turning off CD Text to find out if that makes a difference. Try burning with a different disc drive. There should be no audible change at the marker locations. Have you tested play back of the disc with other CD drives?

Something you can test is to choose Save as Disc Image in Toast. Then play the resulting .sd2f file in iTunes. It won't have any markers but you'll be able to hear if Toast or Spin Doctor created any audible change where you placed the markers. If not the problem is happening with the burning of the disc.
