I need to make a slipstreamed bootable Windows XP PRO cd. I currently have a retail Windows XP Pro CD and the SP2 CD I bought from Microsoft. This bootable CD will avoid having to install all of the Windows updates again.
I found a program, Autostreamer, which creates .iso images and can merge Windows installation programs from the two CDs. I appears to work.
Am I using EMC 7.0 correctly? I clicked on Bootable Disc in the Tasks panel, then chose the Use existing image option and browsed to the autostreamer .iso file. Click OK.
The burn put two files on the CD: BOOTIMG.BIN and the XPIMAGE.ISO. This appears to be correct but it doesn't boot.
I notice that if instead I use the Burn from Disk Image File, that EMC unpacks the .ISO file into all of the components which look lsimilar to what I see on the Windows installation CD. Does this boot correctly?
