sknis
Or if you want to spend a little more: Model: DVP5982/37 which does DivX but also has an upconverting feature. I own this and I'm extremely happy with the player; the remote though could be better. I wasn't sure about the upconverting feature but I now believe that it does work. Make sure your TV has the proper input jacks (HMDI).
cdanteek
I wasn't sure about the upconverting feature but I now believe that it does work. Make sure your TV has the proper input jacks (HMDI). Without HDMI, it's just a DVD Player. Remember, you need an HDTV with an HDMI connection to reap the enhanced-picture benefits of an Upconvert DVD Player. For best performance, look for a player with an output resolution that matches your HDTV's native display resolution (1080p, 1080i or 720p). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id...tegory#05Anchor cd
Brendon
I have a DVP640K which is a couple of years older and cost 5 times as much back then. It does have S-video, 5.1, and component outputs though. It's very nice to be able to play a disc full of AVIs, MPGs, MP3s, or JPGs on it, and it will flash-update its own firmware if it sees a CD with a Philips update on it.
