Burning 2 .avi files on one DVD?

Jayhawk328

Question

i am new to Toast and bought the newest version, but I have 2 .avi files, and when I tried to burn them using the DVD video option I can see it fine on my DVD player, but there is no sound. Am I doing something wrong or do you think the files are messed up? Is there a way to merge the two files to make it one file, or should I usually be able to drag as many files as I want in Toast to one DVD? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

i already have it installed

Sometimes AVIs contain audio in a format that isn't native to QuickTime (such as AC-3). That is what the A52codec fixes. The latest version of Perian incorporates the A52codec while earlier versions do not.

I don't recall any posts relating to lack of audio from AVI sources that weren't addressed by installing the A52codec.

so all i have to do is drag the first part of the video to Toast followed by the second part and i should have no problems? This is assuming I use the DVD Video option to...

Correct. If you choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu instead of clicking the burn button you can get a disc image which can be mounted and played back in DVD Player as a preview. If all is okay you can burn the disc image to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window.
