MP3 disk

Question

 I'm having trouble burning MP3 disks. I've gotten an overburn warning, and when I removed some of the tracks, I got a mechanical failure notification stating that the disk may be unreadable?

How much data (minutes) can be placed on an 80 min cd in MP3 format?

Apparently the first disc got trashed because some of your project was written to it. This program does not allow much in the way of over burn.

Which of the 15 or so applications did you use to try to burn the mp3 disc - best application is Music Disc Creator on the Home Applications page.

Did you look near the bottom of the window to see if you were over? You should have seen a red bar indicating it. If you are trying to burn from the "JukeBox" application, look to the lower left and you should see a yellowish disc that tells you the amount of free space or the amount over. Sometimes that hangs and does not give you the updated information. Again use Music Disc Creator.

How much depends on the mp3 format (there are several). You can assume that the compression is about 10 to 1 from a wav file. You can calculate from there.

Mp3 discs don't go by time they go by space.Depending on what bitrate the files are made at decides how much fits on a disc.At 128k it's about 1Mb per minute give or take. (I'm pretty sure).Given that, you're looking at about 700Mb worth of files.
