EMC 9 won't install

I receive the following message: You must install Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 before installing the content. I have the full box version of EMC 9 and I am using XP Professional on a Dell XPS machine. I do have Roxio 7 version installed and running properly. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Many thanks for your help! I double checked the contents of the box and discovered I had indeed missed the program CD. It was jammed in the box, laying flat against one side, so that if you did not carefully inspect the box, you would miss it. However, after not being able to install the program to my computer, I did successfully install it to another computer which was running VISTA. It even allowed me to copy a disc several times, so I assumed that the Content CD did in fact contain the Program. I'm betting now that there are indeed missing elements from the install on the VISTA machine. At any rate, all is well on my XP. Thanks again!

Glad it's working Gary - it reminds me of one of the earlier versions where somehow glue wound up on the CD - that caused a LOT of problems on install

There should be two CDs in the box - one marked 'Program' and the other 'Content'.

 

It sounds as if you're trying to install the wrong one, but just in case of packing errors, check that both CDs are indeed different (browse the files in Explorer)

 

The program one must go in first - content has to be installed manually after installation (it's just extra transitions and so on)
