Totally Frustrated
The Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 came on my computer. The OS was originally Windows Vista, but I did not like Windows Vista, so I had a computer shop to put in Windows XP for me. The CD & DVD Creator 6 worked fine for awhile then suddenly it began acting up, not doing what it was supposed to, so I decided to try and uninstall it. That made matters worse. Now, I get a message saying: The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removeable disk that is not available. Insert the 'Easy CD DVD Creator 6' disk and click ok. I don't have the disk, so I click cancel. When I do that, I then get this message: Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Easy CD & DVD Creator 6. The Windows Installer cannot continue. These error screens are constantly popping up and are becoming quite aggravating to deal with. Can you please advise on how to resolve this issue? Many thanks! gi7omy
It sounds as if the installation of ECD6 was a custom one and some components were omitted. The program is trying to load a requested module (which hasn't been installed) and is looking for the original installation disc to complete the job. Without that CD you're going to chase in circles I'm afraid
Brendon
Now, I get a message saying: The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removeable disk that is not available. No valid source could be found for product Easy CD & DVD Creator 6. The Windows Installer cannot continue. No problem. You've busted the installer/uninstaller setup. Use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility available from Microsoft here to remove the parts relating to the Roxio software. Be sure to read their instructions before you use it.
