Larry
Must have just put that up in the last couple hours, as it wasn't there earlier today. looks like it applies to a number of the 6xxx and 5xxx and some FX ones too.
Beerman
Just got an email about this myself. Seem to be coming out pretty often now. Must be to keep up on Vista's heels.
Larry
Probably. When I first saw the post that it was a 162 one, I thought it was a Vista one. Quite surprised to see it was XP
grandpabruce
Thanks, Marlin. Downloading them now. Edit: Uninstalled old, installed new, reboots, etc., opened up a slideshow with dissolves. Lots of shimmer during the transitions. Replaced all transitions with others. No jerk to upper right or lower left, like before. Go figure. Will do more testing, later. grandpabruce
Sounds promising! I'll have to try out the new drivers when I get back home. Let me know which transition that you use, Gary. If the jerk is really gone, it will be good. But, also try a few dissolves, and see if you get shimmer during the transitions. BTW, I have the Nvidia settings balanced between best quality and best performance. At best quality, the shimmer was the same as half way. I will try the best performance. ggrussell
Try any of the 3D transitions. Try to choose one where you can see the beginning and ending fairly well.
grandpabruce
Try any of the 3D transitions. Try to choose one where you can see the beginning and ending fairly well. Well, there is no slight jump when using widescreen pictures, and now the shimmer is gone when I change from 3-D to dissolves. There was a slight jump with 3-D transitions, with the last set of drivers, but not with these. However, I just tried a 4:3 production, with normal digital pictures, 3-D transitions, and the slight jump is still there.
REDWAGON
Well, I would have liked to download that new driver but when it started it was at 212kbs but then within 30 seconds it went down to 12.5 and showed 1 hour and 32 minutes to download. I just cancelled out. Must be that their server is pretty busy. I'll try later. My usual download speed is usually at around 293 kbs Frank... Patty
NVidia has put out a new update, both for the 7 and 8 series (possibly others too). Version 162.18. Release Notes. When I click on the Release notes I get the window fro Microsoft that asks if I want to report the problem to MS I click yes and it tells me that they can't identify the problem but there may be some updates that need to be done. I have noticed that I have come across this problem with other sites when I try to click on something. Can't figure out why this is happening so often recently. I even when on NVidia site and tried to click on release notes and the same thing happened.

Mine wasn't quite that slow, but Nvidia has crap for a server. The only server that I found that was slower, was Nero's, but I haven't downloaded anything from them in almost 2 years.
