Panasonic DMP-BD10A HDMV on DVD-R playback problem

Question

Hi,

I just upgraded to DVDIt Pro HD 6.3, and am trying to get a small HD project to play back on my BD10A from DVD-R and I'm not having any success at all. :(:angry2:

The BD10A originally had firmware 2.0 on it, so I upgraded the firmware to 2.2 which made no difference.

When I put the disc in the player, the on screen menu shows BD-Video for a second or two. It then says "now reading" in the bottom right corner. After that, Stop appears on the front panel of the player, and then the on screen message says "this disc is incompatible".

I've tried using DVD-R and DVD+R discs. I've tried burning with DVDIt using the burn from Image method and I've tried burning with ImgBurn. They both have the same results.

I am using one of the supplied templates for the menu, and I took 1 of the DVCPro HD 720p60 sample clips from the Final Cut Pro Panasonic sampler disc. I opened the clip in QT on the Mac and then exported 2 uncompressed 8 Bit QT movies and copied that to the PC. 1 of the movies is 720p 23.98 and the other is 1080p 23.98.

I am letting DVDIt do the MPEG-2 HD encoding for me. I've tried a couple of the preset encoding setups, and have also tried making the menus 720p and 1080p.

Please let me know if this is operator error, of if the new BD10A doesn't support BDMV on DVD-R.

TIA for any suggestions that you may have.

Are you using BDMV for that disc?
