I thought that it might be an idea to email Roxio on this subject and see what they had to say. The good news is that they responded promptly. The bad news is the words that they chose in their reply which were (my emphasis):

Creator Classic and IE 7 most likely will work together.

"Most likely" suggests that, off the top of his head, the Roxio person concerned saw no reason why there should be a problem, but that he hasn't actually tried it out himself.

I guess its up to you....try it (use a CD-RW as a test). If it works, bonus, if not erase the disc and remove IE 7.

It,s up to you.

I probably will. I've already been down this route of installing IE7, finding that DVD Builder wouldn't work and then reinstalling IE 6. I was just hoping that I might get a definitive answer without all the hassle of reinventing the wheel.

IE6 will work with no problem

I know there are some sites that only work with IE, but in general they';re ones done in Frontpage and not very W3C compliant)

There are also a lot of sites (according to a web designer friend of mine) that won't work with IE7 because that has drifted even farther away from W3C compliance
