Error s and Intro music

CharlieR

Question

I have got some new DVD that are 16* write speed and can't seem to burn dvd's now and keep getting "error code = 0*80004005"

Any ideas

Secondly when i put background music on the intro pages it plays 30 secs and then starts again. Can this be changed?

Fogot to say it is on Videowave 7

Cheers

Try updating the firmware for your burner. It may not be properly recognizing your DVD media.

You're stuck with the 30 seconds on the music.

Thanks again for that. Firmware is updated, can I change the burn speed as the 4* disc worked after trying the 16* disc.

Just burnes=d a 4* DVD and tried a 16* dvd with burn rate at 1 and did not work.

Any ideas please,

Charlie

Charlie, first, it is tough to decipher how you are describing what you are doing. Forget the 4*, it is 4X. If you have the firmware updated for your burner, and you try to burn at a slower speed, and you still have a failure, then either your burner is junk or your media is junk. I would try changing media brand or type.

What media are you using? What burner do you have?

If by media you mean discs then they are phillips dvd - r 4.7gb 120 min

Burner is an NEC DVD RW ND 3500AG

Can I set Roxio to burn only at 1x or 4x

CharlieR,

the only Phillips Media I see in the NEC (Firmware: NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG 2.1B)

Are, DVD+R9 Dual Layer PHILIPS CD2-000 2.4x, PHILIPS PD2-000 2.4x

and, DVD+R5 Single Layer Philips 081-000 8x,6x,4x,2.4x, Philips 081-001 8x,6x,4x,2.4x.

The Drive will only burn at a X speed it reads from it's own firmware and from the media your using the media ID (MID). If the media isn't in the firmware it takes on a generic write strategy usually 4X. That sounds like the case with your DVD -R disc's. Use one of the free programs below to see the Write Speed Descriptor(s) or Write speeds for the media your using.
